About Shades of Verde
Shades of Verde is a personal and professional platform built to make environmental responsibility feel more approachable, practical, and relevant to everyday life.
Born from both personal curiosity and professional experience, this space exists to bridge the gap between learning about sustainability and actually knowing how to apply it. Here, complex topics are broken down into accessible lessons, everyday practices are shared with honesty, and resources are curated to support individuals, communities, and workplaces.
You’ll find a mix of educational content, lifestyle inspiration, reflections, and tools designed to inform without overwhelming. From understanding environmental systems, rethinking consumption habits, or exploring how sustainability shows up in work and community spaces, the goal is understanding and action, not perfection.
“Verde,” meaning green, reflects more than a color. It represents a spectrum. The different stages people move through as they learn, question, and reshape how they live and work. Every shade reflects a part of that journey.
About Me
I’m Alexis, an environmental scientist by training, a sustainability coordinator by profession, and a creative at heart.
In my work, I help organizations embed environmental responsibility into daily operations and culture. Outside of work, I’ve found myself doing the same thing informally, translating environmental concepts for friends, family, and community, and connecting everyday decisions to larger systems.
Shades of Verde grew out of that intersection. A place where my professional experience, personal values, and creative instincts could live together. My approach centers on progress over perfection, thoughtful living, and the belief that sustainability becomes meaningful when it feels attainable.
This platform is an invitation to learn, reflect, and explore at your own pace.
